\”Jesus\” is alive and well down under

The Bible warns us of false prophets who will appear in the end of days, claiming to be Jesus.

His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?“  (Matthew 24:3)  “Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many… For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect–if that were possible.”(Mark 13:6, 21)  “and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.”(Matt 24:11)

This is not restricted to Christianity and many religions have seen false prophets appear.  Through the ages there have been many and Wikipedia has a comprehensive list dating back to the 1799.  One thing \”missing\” that these \”prophets\” don\’t have going for them is the lack of miracles being performed.  I guess they missed that part of the verse.

The one, which caught my intention and inspired this post is Alan John Miller, who have been making headlines lately.  The short and sweet of it is:

1. Alan claims to be Jesus.  Apparently he remembers the Lazarus resurrection and have also met Aristotle.
2. His wife is Mary Magdalene aka Mary Suzanne Luck.
3. They come from a Jehovah\’s Witness background and their church is called Divine Truth.
4. He has foretold the end of the world in 2011, but oops, that didn\’t quite pan out.  There was another prediction for 2012, but we are all still here.
5. Despite travelling the world, thus far no miracles or other actions have been performed to prove his claims.
6. He is currently recruiting more members to be saved.

As I said at the start of this post, each to his own.  I see him for the fraud that he is.
