Do you remember a time when you could switch on the news and BELIEVE what they say?

I remember listening to the news as a child and I knew then that it was all true. OK, granted media has been controlled, censored and manipulated for as long as it\’s been around, but at least we had a sense of knowing that there is at least some truth in it

Do you remember the days when a contract was sealed on a handshake or you still had a personal banker?

Do you remember the days when a spade was a spade and you could still call it such?

Do you remember a time when \”I love you\” still meant something and a relationship or marriage was a bond between two people that they fought for, tooth and nail. A time when you wouldn\’t consider lying or cheating.

Do you remember the days when there was still respect, trust, and loyalty between people both in business and in their personal relationships?

If I have to think of all the treasures we have lost as humankind, it would have to be these:
Trust
Respect
Loyalty

I miss the days when you could blindly trust someone.
I miss the days when yes meant yes and no meant no
I miss the days when people meant what they said and said what they meant
I miss the days when being a public servant was just that – a service to the public – and not a open chequebook to corruption
I miss the days when neighbour\’s cared about each other\’s wellbeing more than about what they are driving or wearing

I speak my truth, and it doesn\’t always go down well, but I will rather swallow a bitter truth than to be deceived by lies drenched in honey
